- Article 1: Organizational Name:
- Article 2: Mission Statement
- The mission of the My
Community Care Team is to reach out to families in crisis as a result
of� a catastrophic illness or injury.� Our focus is to support their
informational needs by providing a network of referrals and support
services.� The ultimate result
should be re-integration into their community.
- Article 3: Membership:
- Eligibility: Common
Interest
- Definition of Member
- There shall be two
classes of Membership: Dues Paying and Dues Exempt.� The decision on each is at the
discretion of the Board of Directors.
- Dues Paying: Member
in good standing, paying the advertised dues on an annual basis.
- Dues Exempt: A
member for whom the dues would present a financial burden or an
individual or organization deemed necessary for the success of the
organization, where dues would be deemed not applicable.
- Membership
Application:
- On file with the
Treasurer
- Dues (future
consideration): Yearly/Arrears/Membership Cancellation
- To be determined by
the Board of Directors.
- Article 4: Board of Directors:
- Duties:
- Further the mission
of the Organization
- Represent the
membership at Business Meeting as voting members
- Terms of Office:
- Recommend 1 year
term, or if needed, extended until a successor can be chosen via a
majority vote of the Board until the next scheduled election.
- The Board should
consist of as few as four members or as many as fifteen
- Powers:
- The Board of
Directors shall act for and on behalf of, the General Membership in
matters of the General Administration of the organization, in accordance
with the current By-Laws.

Diversity
The representation on the Board of Directors will
consist of no less than 1/3 of persons with disabilities or a family member
of� person with a disability.
- Article 5: Executive Board
- The Executive Board
will comprise of the following positions:
- President, Vice
President, Treasurer, Chairman of the Board, Secretary
- Each shall have an
equal single vote in matters brought before the Board for resolution.
- Duties and
Responsibilities:
- President:
- Provide general
supervision for the organization.
- Shall preside over
all meetings.
- Announce all
Speakers and Topics at General Membership Meetings.
- Vice-President:
- Serve in the
absence of the President.
- Insure policy
adherence to the By-Laws.
- Perform Duties
assigned by the Board of Director.
- Treasurer:
- Oversee the
generation and filing of required reports.
- Shall maintain all
required Records.
- Shall insure
compliance with all State and Federal requirements.
- Chairman of the
Board:
- Shall prepare
Agenda and Topics for meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Shall maintain
order during these sessions.
- Secretary:
- Maintain the
Minutes of each General Membership and Board Meeting.
- Maintain and
advertise a schedule of meetings and events for the organization.
- Maintain a current
listing of all current members, including address and contact numbers.
- Article 6: Administration:
- Business Meetings:
- The chapter must
conduct a minimum of 4 quarterly meetings each calendar year.� Minutes from these meetings are the
charge of the Secretary and must be maintained historically.
- The schedule of these
meetings must be made available to the General Membership and a reminder
posted at lease 14 days before each meeting.
- Parliamentary
Procedure shall be the governing policy in conducting all Business and
Membership Meetings.
- Article 7: Voting:
- Except as specified
elsewhere in these By-Laws, a simple majority vote of members in good
standing will be required to approve or disapprove any item of Business
- A Quorum for the
transaction of any duly-called meeting item shall be 75% of the Board and
25% of the General Membership.
- Annual elections:
- Executive Board
shall hold elections at one of the required meetings:
- Election Terms:
Executive Board positions carry a two year term and members of the
Board of Directors carry a 1 year team.
- Nominating Committee:
- This committee shall
consist of no less than 3 members in good standing.
- One member of this
committee shall be selected to serve as the Nominating Committee
Chairperson.
- Election of any
person to this committee shall not prohibit them from being nominated
or running for any office.
- This committee is
responsible for the nomination process integrity and to insure that all
required positions receive nominations.
